'Reaper-lizard' dinosaur discovered in desert

A giant "reaper lizard" dinosaur that towered as high as a double decker bus and had nine inch scythe-like claws has been unearthed by scientists.

The new feathered dinosaur, named Nothronychus graffami, was 13 ft high and is part of a species that included the Tyrannosaurus Rex and the Velociraptor whose vicious nature was depicted in Jurassic Park movies.

But despite this the researchers who found the near complete skeleton in the Utah desert in the US believe the new discovery, which would have been covered in feathers, was a vegetarian.

They believe this because of their tiny teeth and jaws and large stomach that, like a cow's, could have been used to breakdown vegetable matter.
